Blood Donation Camp was organized at Furkating College

The book release programme was held at the Narayan Chandra Dutta Memorial Conference Hall of the college.

On Thursday, 21-05-2026, a Blood Donation Camp was organized at Furkating College (Autonomous). The camp was held at the Jyoti Bishnu Auditorium of the college. The day-long voluntary blood donation programme was jointly organized by the Alumni Association, Red Ribbon Club, Youth Red Cross Unit, NCC Unit, and Assam State Blood Transfusion Council, in collaboration with Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital. The Principal of the college, Dr. Apurba Saikia, delivered the welcome address and explained the importance of blood donation. Among those present at the camp were Biju Bora, Dr. Asika Choudhury, B.Sc. Nursing staff Dimpi Thengal, Technical Supervisor Rudra Mohan, Lab Technician Raktim Saikia, Lab Attendants Himanku Hazarika and Pranjal Pujari. Biju Bora spoke about the rules, procedures, and necessity of blood donation. Thereafter, Dr. Asika Choudhury and Dimpi Thengal delivered goodwill speeches. During the programme, the Administrative Vice-Principal of the college, Indira Gogoi, also addressed the gathering and extended her best wishes to everyone. A total of 13 teachers, staff members, alumni, NCC cadets, and current students voluntarily donated blood in the camp. At the end of the programme, donor certificates were distributed to all the blood donors. The programme was conducted by Apurba Ranjan Dutta, Associate Professor of the Department of Education.
