Department Of Geography

The departments of geography was founded in the year 2023. It is currently offers B.A/B.Sc. programme of study. The present curriculum is wide-ranging and it covers core courses  such as Geomorphology, Oceanography and Climatology in the first semester and courses such as Political Geography, Social Geography, Population Geography, Regional Development and Planning, Environmental Geography and Regional Geography of North East Indian in  the subsequent semesters. In addition, the course includes papers on Cartography, Remote Sensing, GIS . The department has a well equipped laboratory facilities.

PROGRAMME OUTCOME:

  1. To make students comprehen the various processes responsible for the department of diverse landforms on the earth surface. The candidate will also learn how the natural surrounding and human activities are responsible for to the distribution of plants and animals.
  2. To make the students aware of the composition of atmosphere and various climatic process. The students will also learn about various factors responsible for climatic.
  3. It is to introduce the major themes of human geography and it’s importance in present days. The students will also learn about population growth and factors responsible for uneven distribution of population in the world. The students will also gain knowledge about the population resource relationship and various types of settlement pattern.
  4. It is to make the students familiar with the various aspects of India. The students will learn about the physical, anthropogenic and economic diversity of India and the factors responsible for such diversities.
